Iris Slipover

Iris Slipover is a rib stitch slipover with a v-neck and it is knitted top down. The upper part of the back piece is knitted before stitches are picked up from each side to make the shoulder and neckline. Eventually the stitches from the front and back pieces are joined and the rest of the vest is knitted in the round on the same needles. Knit a gauge swatch before starting to ensure the gauge is correct. The slipover should have a “positive ease” of around 10-15 cm.

Iris Slipover has three suggested yarns: 1) double thread wool/alpaca + single thread silk mohair 2) single thread wool + single thread silk mohair 3) single thread Dale Garn Merino 22. Choose one of these alternatives. The gauge is the same for all alternatives, it is therefore important to knit a gauge swatch before starting, so that you use the correct size needles. Please note: the gauge is measured after washing or blocking.

Alternative 2
One thread main yarn knitted held together with one thread silk mohair. You will need half the amount of main yarn and the same amount of silk mohair as stated in alternative 1.
